about me!
I was born and raised on the Central Coast of California, and basically I call everything from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo my home. I came to San Diego in search of a large city atmosphere but still wanted to be near the beach, which has worked very nicely because I love it here! I'm currently studying Journalism & Media (also known as JMS) and obtaining a minor in Spanish from San Diego State University. I took the opportunity last summer to study abroad in San SebastÃan, Spain and lived with a family which was an amazing experience! Take a look at some of my favorite photos in my "Study Abroad" slide show gallery under Photos. I really enjoy traveling and hope to do much more in my lifetime!
My immediate family still resides on the Central Coast. My older sister Ashley, is attending Cal Poly S.L.O. while Mom, Dad, and our golden-doodle Chloe are holding down the fort! Unfortunately, I don't make it home very often because of work and school, but since living the large city life, here in San Diego, I have definitely learned to appreciate the small hometown feel much more!
On top of finishing up my Bachelor's Degree for JMS I have begun exploring the career field of Public Relations and currently have an internship with the P.R. agency BAM Communications. I work for Rebecca Bamberger, a successful UCLA grad who began BAM Communications, and she teaches me the ropes of how to establish and maintain public identities for our clients by networking whithin their fields of interest and doing market research. We are based out out of down town San Diego and Beck is always keeping me on my feet with new hands on projects and assignments!
And last but definitely not least, I am also in the process of starting up a small personal business in makeup artistry (hence my final project "Makeup Artist"). My passion for makeup and ambition for creativity has flourised since I began working at Sephora a little over two years ago, and I have since become very well versed in artistry as well as product knowledge for both skincare and makeup. As of right now, I am in the process of networking, distributing my business cards, and creating a portfolio which I believe will tremendously propel my career in the industry. Since starting in the freelance industry, I have done makeup for a commercial, a few fashion shows, and assisted the artistry for a wedding. I feel confident knowing that I will always have my makeup artistry at my side because I know that it is something I love and that I can continue to be successful at. I am already proud of the few accomplishments I have made and am extremely excited and anxious to see what this new chapter in my life will bring!
